Italian restaurants, sub shops, calzone counters and Italian delis sit next to the pizzerias on this site because most of them bake pizza too, often from the same dough. Full-service Italian restaurants take reservations for dinner, add a tip line for table service (15-20% is customary) and usually run a cheaper lunch menu on weekdays. Sub and sandwich shops are counter-order and quick, with sizes by the inch or in half and whole lengths. Calzones and strombolis are priced like a medium pizza and are large enough to share. Italian delis and bakeries sell by weight and by the piece, and many close mid-afternoon.
Hours are published for 1 day a week. The most common schedule is 9 AMβ1 PM. It is closed on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach International Bakery at (814) 452-3435; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, facebook.com.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 347 reviews, which is a strong result for an italian deli in Erie and suggests consistent service.
Erie is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Erie peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Stopped in for a sweet treat. Did not have prices or names for anything in the case which is a huge turn off as a customer. Cashier was lovely about finding a price for me before I chose something. Baklava was dry, price was okay once someone was able to find it.

Anytime I find myself in the area, I have to stop!! Hands down the best cannolis, antipasto, and pepperoni bread in the state! It makes me feel like a little kid in my aunt's kitchen every time I stop! The staff are always helpful, courteous, quick, and with a ready smile. I can't say enough good things.

Last week we were in Erie and we decided to visit International Bakery, which we have not been to in decades as we had lived out of state. I remembered their pepperoni balls were so delicious that I simply had to buy some. WOW, they are still as delicious now as they were back then - definitely not the grocery store look-alikes. Plus the girl at the counter was very polite and accommodating. And the turnovers were fresh and also very good.

Went in for pepperoni balls. Had 1 bag left. Extremely rude help. 2 girls at counter. 1 put the bag at register, other rang it up. The one who rang it up immediately turned her back and started doing something else. Not even a thank you!!! I'll buy Stagnellis frozen from Giant Eagle. Not like the old days when businesses knew that customers kept them in business!!!!! ππ

I came here for the pizza shells. I remember getting these as a kid and making homemade pizza. They were just as I remember, super good!
